DO YOU SEE YOUR FAULT?
In my diary today,
I was trying to imagine what the life of King Saul was like in the Bible and I discovered some amazing facts about him.
Do you know that this King repented of his actions for sparing Agag the king of the Amalekites and for bringing the fattest of the cattles?
1 Sam 15:24 Then Saul said to Samuel, “I have sinned. I didn’t obey the Lord’s commands and your words. I was afraid of the people, and I did what they said.
What's now the problem?
One of his problems was his change of position. How?
Verse 17
Samuel said, “Once you didn’t think much of yourself, but now you have become the leader of the tribes of Israel. The Lord appointed you to be king over Israel.
That was the origin of his problem . When he was chosen from the least of the tribes of Israel and from a very small family (he was probably the only son of Kish and a child asked for), he was humble to obey and listen to instructions. But now he's no more little to himself, he is now a king and a leader, Kai, this is simply misunderstanding and mismanagement of responsibility and position.
He continued by shifting blame on the people, forgetting if he had instructed them not to take anything no one dare do such. Anyways, he was trying to justify himself.
Another problem he had was seeking man's respect before God
Verse 30
Saul answered, “I have sinned. But please honor me in front of the elders of my people and in front of the Israelites. Come back with me so that I can worship the Lord your God.”.
And the outcome was
Verse 28,29
Samuel said to him, “The Lord has torn the kingdom of Israel from you today and has given it to one of your neighbors who is better than you. 29 The Lord is the Eternal One of Israel. He does not lie or change his mind. He is not a human being, so he does not change his mind.
Your position does not change God's knowledge about you
